Nelson Engineering is completing the design of the Fishing Bridge Water System Replacement Project located in Yellowstone National Park. Included in the project is the complete replacement of the water system at Fishing Bridge consisting of all distribution mains and services as well as the construction of a HDD bore under the Yellowstone River. A new 450,000 gallon buried concrete water tank is also part of the design, intended to address supply, storage, and fire protection issues. The design had to account for an extremely short construction season balanced with a large volume of tourist traffic. Nelson Engineering worked with Park Staff to mitigate environmental impacts and work within culturally sensitive areas. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2014 with completion slated for the spring of 2016.
