What does your role involve, and what do you enjoy most about it?
As a geotechnical engineer at Nelson, I get to be one of the first people on a project site to analyze the groundwater/soil conditions for both residential and commercial projects. Once the field investigation is complete, I am involved in compiling a geotechnical report that states our findings, and what is recommended for a safe, efficient, and constructable design based on the ground conditions. Other parts of my role include well drilling and design, construction inspections, and permitting.
What is your favorite part of working with this team?
One of my favorite parts of working with this team is getting to be involved in many projects and helping solve unforeseen problems that arise in the design and construction process with a group effort. What specifically makes working with the Nelson team enjoyable is being able to work with like-minded individuals who value both their work and life outside of work, which allows for the opportunity to fulfill goals in multiple aspects of life.
What do you like to do when you are not at the office?
When I am not at the office I enjoy being outside, cooking, and listening to music with friends and family.
